TERMS & CONDITIONS OF STAYING AT SOUTH EDEN HOTEL
South Eden maintains that it is a property providing history, luxury, and retreat. South Eden institutes necessary policies to ensure quality and safety to all guests. By booking a hotel suite at South Eden, you are agreeing to these policies. Please give us a call with any questions, it would be our pleasure to help.
South Eden is a 38-acre historical property. We do NOT have a traditional front desk lobby for check-in. Upon arriving through the Main South Eden Gate you will drive down a long driveway. When you arrive at the end of this driveway, please call guest services, (229)-233-8285 for checking in. Guest services will meet you and direct your car to your designated suite building. If guest services does not answer immediately they may be on the phone with another guest. Please call back again OR leave a message with the name under your reservation, phone number, and your need. Guest services will call you back immediately to get you checked in.
Check-In time is usually between 2pm to 8pm. Guests can request early check-in but, this cannot be guaranteed. Guests can also request late check-in. All early and late check-in requests must be approved by South Eden guest services. Late check-in after 8pm will result in a late check-in fee of $30. Late check-in after 11pm will result in a late check-in fee of $45. Please leave guest booking note OR contact South Eden guest services for any of these special needs regarding your reservation.
Check-out time is 11am. Guests can request a late check-out of 1pm but, this cannot be guaranteed. All late check-out requests must be approved by South Eden guest services. Unauthorized late check-out after 11am will result in a fee of $45 per hour. Please contact South Eden guest services for any of these special needs regarding your reservation.
We have an express check-out. Please leave your room keys in the suite before departing. You will be checked out automatically and emailed a receipt within 72 hours of your stay. ($15 fee applied per key card that is taken.)
Upon booking, guests will be charged a 50% deposit. (This deposit is NON-refundable for room blocks/large reservations of 10 or more rooms.) Upon check-in date OR up to 48 hours before, guests will be charged remotely by the credit card on file for their total outstanding amount of booked night stays and any additional fees such as taxes or specialty requested add-ons. Any add-ons after this will be charged throughout your stay.
Dining Payment Policy
Please note that for any dining events such as Garden Side, Taste of Eden, etc. South Eden does NOT accept open tabs billed to guest suites for any restaurant services. Payments will be charged automatically to room per individual or large group purchase immediately upon ordering.
Individual Guest Cancellation Policy
This cancellation policy only applies to you if you are an individual reservation that is NOT apart of a wedding, event, room block, or large group reservation (Large group reservations consist of three rooms or more). Room Reservations must be canceled 72 hours in advance of the arrival date. If you fail to cancel by this date, a 50% deposit of your current reservation(s) will be non-refundable. If you fail to cancel by this date and have not been charged 50% of your current reservation(s), we will automatically charge this percentage due. If you had previously changed your reservation to add additional overnight accommodations, etc. that would result in an increased 50% deposit, this will be charged to meet the 50% non-refundable amount due. If you do not cancel within 72 hours you will also be charged for any perishable add-ons that were requested.
Wedding/Events/Room Block/Large Group Reservation Cancellation Policy
Due to the limited availability at our boutique hotel, ANY and ALL guests that are booking any overnight accommodations as part of a wedding, event, room block, OR large group reservation (Large group reservations consist of three rooms or more.), must cancel six months (180 days) in advance to avoid a cancellation fee, which is 50% of your total hotel reservation(s). If you fail to cancel by this date, a 50% deposit of your current reservation(s) will be non-refundable. If you fail to cancel by this date and have not been charged 50% of your current reservation(s), we will automatically charge this percentage due. If you had previously changed your reservation to add additional overnight accommodations, etc. that would result in an increased 50% deposit, this will be charged to meet the 50% non-refundable amount due.
We have 24-hour on-call maintenance for your stay. Please call guest services at 229-233-8285 with any issues regarding your stay. If our guest services does not answer immediately they may be on the phone with another guest. Please leave a message with the name under your reservation, phone number, and your need. Guest services will call you back promptly.
South Eden is a NON-smoking property. Smoking in guest suites, on any guest suite porches, near any historical buildings, OR littering cigarettes/vape pods/etc. anywhere on site will result in an automatic $350.00 charge to your reservation. Additional fees may apply depending on the severity of smoke extraction needed, etc. Please help us maintain our beautiful, historical acreage. Guests are encouraged to report any unauthorized smoking on the property to South Eden guest services immediately.
Our indoor, saltwater pool is open until 10pm. Guests will need their key card to access Pool House doors. Please note that you are NOT permitted to bring any alcohol, glassware, food, OR dogs into the Historical Pool House. Please note that the pool hours can be affected by South Eden's event schedule and may be off-limits for the duration of your stay. Please call for any further inquiry regarding these specialty hours. Please note that NO person(s) that are not registered hotel guests are allowed the use of the grounds or swimming pool. NO dogs are allowed in the pool or pool house area. Please note there is NO lifeguard at duty. All children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Property Grounds Usage Cleanup Policy
Please note that any common spaces to compliment guest suite locations such as the Daughters Wing hallway/sitting room, Showside/Stableside community porches, etc. are only permitted for guests booked in those allocated suites. Only registered guests are allowed in the guestrooms and suite common areas including the Pool House.
Afterparty or Large Group Gathering Policy
Prior special use or venue rental of any and all South Eden spaces must be coordinated and approved by South Eden representatives before ANY special utilization of common areas is used for specialty preparation, parties, functions, gatherings, or photoshoots. Additional cleanup fees will apply to any of these circumstances. This applies to ALL overnight guests that are staying in guest suites allocated in these areas. ONLY registered guests are allowed in your hotel suite and there is a zero-tolerance for guest suite parties to ensure all onsite guests' safety and quality of stay.
Specialty Use of Daughter's Wing Sitting Room
Any bride, wedding party, and/or group booking any of the Daughters Wing suites CANNOT utilize the Daughters Wing hallway/sitting room for specialty preparation, functions, and/or photography sessions unless approved by South Eden. Additional cleanup/service fees will apply for use. This room is solely for the use of guests registered to the Daughters Wing Hallway and is solely for the purpose of a small sitting/mingling area. Please be considerate of other guests that could be staying in the same area as you.
South Eden reserves the right to enter your guest suite any time during your stay for maintenance issues, security concerns, and/or emergency situations.
Any guests booking a room must be at least 18 years or older.
South Eden Plantation welcomes dogs under certain provisions. All other pets are prohibited. The hotel will charge a $70.00 pet service fee per room, per dog, per night, no exceptions. Dogs must be 50 pounds or under. Dogs must be on a leash at all times when on the property outside of your guest suite. Dogs are not allowed to stay in ANY Main House guest suites, Honeymoon Cottage, the Bowden Cottage, Sweetheart Cottage, Pool House, Sunken Courtyard, OR any venue spaces. There is a maximum of 2 dogs per hotel accommodation. Guests must have their dog(s) crated any and all times when they leave their guest suite in order to preserve the quality of the room and provide 100% safety to any housekeeping staff. Dogs are not allowed in any food service area. Guests must use specified walking area designated upon check-in and clean up after any dog waste to avoid additional fees to their reservation. Management reserves the right to refuse service to any guest who does not comply with the dog friendly policies of South Eden Plantation. For any unreported or concealed pets, there will be a $150 stow-away fee, on top of our regular pet fee OR based on circumstances, management reserves the right to refuse service to guests, that are assigned to hotel rooms prohibited to pets.
Room Capacity and Roll Away Beds Policy
Each guest suite sleeps a specified number of guests. If guests have an additional person that is not liable for another room South Eden will supply a roll-away bed for an additional $40.00 per room, per night. Rollaway beds in specified suites are not applicable due to the size of the suite. Child care additions such as cribs are an additional $40.00 per room, per night. These items are available on the "Add-On" Section of Booking OR you can contact South Eden. Only registered guests are allowed in the guestrooms.
South Eden reserves the right to charge the credit card on file for any room booking in which the guests for that room sustained damage to their guest suite(s), common areas, or any of the surrounding property during their stay. There is a minimum fee of $250 for any littering on guest suite porches and/or the historical property. Management reserves the right to charge these fees applicable to guests or room blocks. Please note that our linen sheets/towels are premium and regular cleaning of them is included in your guest suite reservation. However, if makeup stains/hair oil/other products permanently stain any sheets, walls, furniture, OR towels, Management reserves the right to charge these fees applicable to guests or room blocks associated.
If there is any maintenance or other unforeseen issue/circumstance with a suite that is booked we will make every effort to adjust this suite. If South Eden deems it necessary to transfer you to another suite (if available) then a transfer will be made. Even when booking a specific suite, upon your reservation date we cannot guarantee any specific suite as sometimes unforeseen issue/circumstances occur.
Our resort is a 38 acre property with everything onsite being within a 3-minute walk from your guest suite. We have both curbside self-parking and our main self-parking lot. Both are complementary to overnight guests. Please note that we do not allow parking of RV’s, portable homes, service trucks, OR large trailers without advance notice as well as approval by South Eden staff. There will be additional fees that apply to paring these types of vehicles. The resort assumes no responsibility for your vehicle OR the contents. NO parking in the grass surrounding the property for any vehicle.
Our resort is a gated property for the security of both our guests and staff. We cannot carry responsibility for the arrival, storage, or upkeep of any mail/packages you have shipped to South Eden. Please note that any packages or mail shipped to South Eden must be approved by South Eden staff in order to arrange proper storage of shipment.
General Booking Policy
When booking guests must provide all valid personal and credit card information to solidify ANY booking. If a guest fails to provide these things upon booking then the requested room reservation will be denied/cancelled.
Room Block Gift Baskets
If you are bringing gift baskets for hotel rooms we require these to be dropped off at least 24 hours before check ins begin, so guest services has adequate time to put them in all hotel rooms. ALL gift baskets must be tagged or stickered with a hotel room number (Example: Suite 136).
